The Panchayati Raj Department of Bihar has released an official notification (Niyojan Notice No.-6394) inviting online applications for 942 Technical Assistant posts on a contractual basis. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must hold a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Polytechnic institute.

Age Limit (As of April 1, 2025)

1. Minimum Age: 18 years
2. Maximum Age

•    UR (Male): 37 years
•    UR (Female), BC/EBC (Male & Female): 40 years
•    SC/ST (Male & Female): 42 years

Nationality

•  Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.

Salary and Employment Terms

• Monthly Honorarium : ₹27,000

Selection Process

Selection will be based on merit and document verification:

1. Merit List

•    Based on marks obtained in the Civil Engineering Diploma.
•    In case of a tie, the older candidate will be given preference.

2. Reservation Rules

•    As per Bihar Reservation Act, 1991 and its amendments.
•     40% of vacancies are reserved for candidates with diplomas from government polytechnics in Bihar.
• Horizontal reservation:
•  4% for Persons with Disabilities.
• 2% for descendants of freedom fighters.

3. Counseling & Document Verification

• Candidates will be called based on the merit list.
• Original documents must be presented during verification.

4. Medical Fitness

• Selected candidates must provide a medical certificate from the Civil Surgeon.
