The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the AFCAT 02/2025 notification, inviting applications from Indian men and women to join as Commissioned Officers in the Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. Applications are also open for the NCC Special Entry in the Flying Branch. The courses will commence in July 2026.

Conducting Body
This recruitment is organized by the Indian Air Force, offering Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying and Ground Duty branches. Permanent Commission (PC) is offered for men via NCC Special Entry (Flying), and SSC is available for both men and women.

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Candidates must be Indian citizens as per the Indian Citizenship Act, 1955.
Age Limit (as on 01 July 2026)
- Flying Branch: 20–24 years
- (Born between 02 July 2002 and 01 July 2006)
- (Up to 26 years for CPL holders – Born between 02 July 2000 and 01 July 2006)
- Ground Duty Branches: 20–26 years
- (Born between 02 July 2000 and 01 July 2006
Educational Qualifications
Flying Branch:
- 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics and Math
AND
- Graduation (3 years) in any discipline with 60% marks
OR
- BE/B.Tech (4 years) with 60% marks
OR
- Cleared AMIE or equivalent with 60%
Technical Branch (AE-L/AE-M):
- 10+2 with 50% in Physics and Math
AND
- Engineering degree in relevant disciplines with 60% marks
Non-Technical Branches
- WS Branch: Same as Flying Branch
- Admin & Logistics: Graduate with 60% or equivalent
- Accounts: B.Com or equivalent finance-related degree with 60%
- Education: PG with 50% and Graduation with 60%
- Meteorology: B.Sc. with Physics & Math or relevant Engineering degree with 60%

Training Details
- Training Starts: July 2026
- Location: Air Force Academy, Dundigal, Hyderabad

- Flying/Technical: 62 weeks
- Non-Technical: 52 weeks
Salary and Benefits
- Rank on Commissioning: Flying Officer
- Pay Scale: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 (Level 10)
- MSP: ₹15,500
- Stipend During Training: ₹56,100/month
